Open NVSE, Open Plugins, then locate something that says: "sr_New_Vegas_Stutter_Remover.ini", open that and copy and paste these settings under the first section that says "Master": If you are experiencing crashing with the stutter remover. It's essential for stuff like NMCs textures and Ojo Bueno because without it, Fallout NV only uses about 2gb of RAM/Video RAM, and those texture mods use far beyond that. Tbh though the 4Gb patcher isn't necessary unless you are installing a ton of textures. It will automatically patch the Fallout nv.exe to make it large address aware.

Simply place the 4gb patcher in your Fallout NV install directory and click it.

It is downloaded as an executable so FOMM would not be able to install it. The 4Gb patcher is actually very easy to install. I looked it over, I was a bit confused as I dont manually install mods, usually, should I use FOMM?

I use this mod and instead of random crashes every 15-30 minutes I can run the game for up to two hours, although occasionally it might crash after 45 minutes to an hour, but better to get 45 minutes get a quest or two done or explore and have to re-launch, than play for 5-15 minutes and not really get to do anything, and have to relaunch the game constantly! I looked it over, I was a bit confused as I dont manually install mods, usually, should I use FOMM? No just use Winrar (I highly recommend Winrar) and extract the contents of the mod into your Fallout New Vegas Directory, and just follow the instructions on the mod page You'll also need to fire up New Vegas through Steam or GOG the regular way once for xNVSE's loader to work.Originally posted by ARmodder:Use the 4GB Fallout New Vegas / Large Address Aware mod, it allows the game to use 4GB of system memory which allows the game to run more mods/more memory intensive mods without crashing, as it is the game has a 2GB limit and if your mods go over that it can and often does cause the game to crash.

I recommend making a shortcut of this file and putting it on your desktop. NOTE: For xNVSE to take effect, you'll need to launch New Vegas with the nvse_loader.exe file that comes with this mod. The download page has installation instructions. This mod extends the scripting capabilities of the vanilla game, which is necessary for making many popular mods work. Next up, you'll want the newest version of the New Vegas Script Extender, or xNVSE.

If desired, you can override LOOT's optimization to make manual tweaks to your load order yourself (this shouldn't be necessary for the mods in this list). This program automatically reorganizes your load order to make it as stable as possible. A great tool to pair with your mod manager is the Load Order Optimization Tool, or LOOT. This will allow New Vegas to read and accept any texture mods you install (we'll get to those later). Then go to Settings > Workarounds > BSA Redirection and toggle it.

After installing it, log in, and select New Vegas as the game you're modding. I highly recommend Vortex since it has a great UI and is very easy to use. These tools automatically handle most mods' installation, so you don't have to dig around in-game files - simply drag-and-drop compressed mod files, and the mod manager will do the rest. The first thing you need is a Nexus Mods account, the website where most mods are posted.
